Neo Los Angeles

about

Desperate, the replicant searches for a way to get into the assembly hall so they can see the Council of Collective Thoughts. Walking the streets of Neo L.A. the replicant finds a bio-hacker who will be able to exchange their bio-id with that of a representative. Although this will get the replicant past the scanners it may not be enough to get an audience with the council - but its worth a shot.

In our world our identities are rather important; in this world it seems that identities are just another type of currency. How does one define self if you're surrounded by cyborgs, flesh and replicant alike?

This song is musically trying to present the options (or lack thereof) the replicant has. We start off with a dark, murky slum or alley and move into a laboratory of horrors. As the beats shift around and the synth repeats I'm trying to convey the thought process of someone desperately focused on a goal. As the bio-hacker makes his proposition we find ourselves suddenly pushed into fever dream of sorts where vocals repeat. The song ends with a tempo slowdown as if the decisions weight is finally coming into focus.

lyrics

Bio-Hacker: Hello - how can I be of service?
N-48016382: I need to get into the Assembly Hall to meet with the Council of Collective Thoughts
Bio-Hacker: You are replicant and will need a bio-hack in order to trick scanners.
N-48016382: Is that possible?
Bio-Hacker: hahahaha, the security of the scanners is ancient and easy to fool but it will come at a price
N-48016382: What's the price?
Bio-Hacker: I will replace your bio-id with a council member but in return I will retain your bio-id for future use.
Bio-Hacker: Your bio-id will reset during stasis calibration the next time you power down
N-48016382: How soon can we get this done?
Bio-Hacker: Now.
