I wrote the bassline and everything else just kind of fell into place. It was my first time really playing with the Roland System-100 and I kind of fell in love with it.

At the same time I was trying out the Roland JD-800 and found that it was incredibly good at making warm ethereal sounds. So the main synth is from the JD-800 but the bit crushed secondary synth is from the Roland JX-3P. The pad or wide acid pad is from ReFX Vanguard 3 which is my go-to for acid sounds these days.

The track really evolved over a week with the lyrics coming in at a later stage; I felt the track was going in the same direction as System Malfunction (from the album Phase Shift) or Monster in the Mirror (also from Phase Shift) so the vocoder on the lyrics is dark, detuned and otherworldly.

I decided to do repeated lyrics borrowing some ideas from earworm music and beautiful acts like Porter Robinson.

I clearly had trouble bridging the sections of the song but I've only got a month so cut me a little slack. I'll probably revisit this one at some point and give it another shake.
